Do you offer one day hunting trips near Queenstown?

Yes. If you have a busy schedule while visiting Queenstown, you can still experience a guided New Zealand hunting trip with a one-day hunt. Our one-day hunting options are ideal for visitors who only have a limited amount of time available but would still like to hunt red stag, fallow buck and arapawa ram

Do you have a rifle I may hunt with?

Yes there is, we have a modern rifle and ammunition that you may use free of charge.

Can I bring my own rifle?

Yes, you will have to apply for a visitors firearms license a minimum of 4 months prior to arrival. If you are bringing a firearm make sure you have the correct paperwork and $25 NZD cash. See the NZ Police website for details.

How much ammunition should I bring?

Minimum of one box, enough to check zero of the rifle and shoot a couple of animals.

What ranges will I be shooting?

We aim to get our clients within 300y to ensure an ethical kill.

What sort of fitness is required?

Moderate to a high level of fitness with a positive mental attitude will make for a more enjoyable hunt.

What animals can I hunt in New Zealand with Crux Outfitters?

You can hunt red stag, bull tahr, fallow buck, chamois, elk and arapawa ram.

Where will I fly in to?

You will fly into Queenstown airport.
