Owner and guide Cam Macdonald has a lifelong passion for hunting and the outdoors. Having guided hunts throughout New Zealand and Canada, Cam brings experience, local knowledge and a strong focus on safety and providing a memorable hunting experience.

Hunt From Queenstown

Queenstown is the perfect base for a New Zealand hunting adventure. Located in the heart of the South Island, it offers easy access to some of New Zealand's spectacular hunting country while providing plenty to see and do before or after your hunt.

For hunters travelling with family or friends, Queenstown also offers a huge range of activities including jet boating, golf, vineyards, restaurants, skiing and other adventure activities.

If you have a busy itinerary, one-day and two-day hunting trips can also be arranged, allowing you to experience guided New Zealand hunting without committing to a longer trip.

The Crux Name

Crux Outfitters takes its name from Crux, the constellation commonly known as the Southern Cross.

Visible year-round in the southern night sky, the Southern Cross has long been an important navigational reference in the Southern Hemisphere and was used by early settlers to help navigate their way through the country.

The name represents something we value in our own hunts: adventure, exploration and finding your way into wild country.
