Crux Outfitters is named after a constellation found in the southernmost visible part of the milky way, now commonly referred to as the southern cross. Seen year-round on clear nights, this constellation once guided early settlers as a vital navigational tool. 

Owner and guide Cam Macdonald has a strong passion for hunting and everything outdoors. Having guided hunts across New Zealand and Canada, he brings a wealth of experience to ensure every client’s adventure is memorable. 

Queenstown is known as the adventure capital of NZ, offering an abundance of activities for you to enjoy before and after your hunt. The perfect destination to combine world-class hunting with unforgettable experiences. From bungy jumping, skydiving, golf, jet boating, world class vineyards and restaurants, a vibrant nightlife and 2 ski hills in the winter.
